Ingredients
215 grams ripe bananas (mashed)
65 grams melted butter
85 grams sugar (you can use brown sugar for a richer flavor)
1 large egg (about 50 grams, beaten)
5 grams vanilla extract (approximately 1 teaspoon)
4 grams baking soda (approximately 1 teaspoon)
Pinch of salt
110 grams all-purpose flour
Optional: 65 grams chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven: Preheat to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9×5 inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan.
Mix the wet ingredients: In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas. Stir in the melted butter. Add the beaten egg, sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
Combine wet and dry: Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. If you’re adding nuts or chocolate chips, fold them in.
Pour into the pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake: Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and serve: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
